Careers Programme

Impact Statement

Trust-Education Group Ltd is committed to the continuous monitoring and evaluation of the impact of its Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) programme on pupils across the Trust. Impact is measured through a range of qualitative and quantitative methods, including the analysis of pupil destination data and feedback from key stakeholders such as students, parents and carers, staff, employers and external partners.

A variety of methods and tools are used to assess the effectiveness of the Trust’s careers provision. These include the Careers & Enterprise Company (CEC) Compass Plus Self-Evaluation Tool, pupil questionnaires, staff surveys and pupil voice activities, all of which sit within the wider Personal Development provision.

To ensure the highest quality of provision, the careers programme is reviewed regularly throughout the academic year in collaboration with key stakeholders. These include the  Governing Body, the Senior Leadership Team and the Lancashire Careers Hub.

The careers provision is overseen by a designated member of the Senior Leadership Team; Melissa Wainman. To ensure accountability, the Careers Lead; Leanne Barker, presents a termly update to senior leaders, outlining progress against key priorities such as pupil destinations, careers provision, work experience and careers guidance.

The next formal review of the CEIAG provision will take place in the Summer Term 2026.

Gatsby Benchmarks

The Gatsby Benchmarks provide a nationally recognised framework for high-quality careers guidance. Trust-Education Group Ltd uses the eight benchmarks to ensure a consistent and effective approach across its 11–16 provision:

Progress against the Gatsby Benchmarks is reviewed termly by the Careers Leader and supporting staff. Actions arising from these reviews are implemented and shared with relevant stakeholders throughout the academic year.

Trust-Education Group Ltd  uses the Careers & Enterprise Company’s Compass Plus self-evaluation tool to provide an immediate and confidential assessment of careers provision against the Gatsby Benchmarks. This process is supported by the Lancashire Careers Hub.
